K-State baseball games relocated to Abilene, Texas

By The Mercury

With the weekend forecast calling for winter weather conditions, including the chance for accumulating snow and below-freezing temperatures, Kansas State’s home-opening baseball series with Milwaukee has been cancelled.

Instead, the Wildcats will travel to Abilene, Texas, for games against Abilene Christian, Grand Canyon University and Missouri State.

The Wildcats will play Grand Canyon (4-4) on Friday at 1 p.m.

On Saturday, K-State will play a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m. against Grand Canyon, followed by a 7 p.m. matchup with Missouri State (6-2).

K-State’s slate of games ends on Sunday at 3 pm against Abilene Christian (5-1).

The home series against Milwaukee will not be rescheduled.

K-State will open the home portion of the season on March 7 when Iowa comes to Tointon Family Stadium for a three-game series.

Fans who purchased single-game tickets to any of the three Milwaukee games will receive a complimentary ticket in the same seating section to a future nonconference home game, based on availability.

For season ticket holders, tickets for this weekend’s games can be used for additional general admission tickets to a future game. Those arrangements can be made through the K-State ticket office at 1-800-221-CATS or in person inside Bramlage Coliseum.

The Big 12 championship pennant giveaway, originally scheduled for Friday, has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 8 against Iowa.
