K-State announces fan event

By The Mercury

Kansas State fans will have their first opportunity to see the 2013 football team on Aug. 17 during the Fall Football Kickoff at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

The public is asked to park on the east side of the stadium and enter through Gates P, R, S and T for the event, which begins at 5 p.m.

Ticket windows on the east side of the stadium will be open for fans who wish to purchase single-game tickets, while concessions, as well as merchandise from the K-State Super Store at the Stadium, will be available on the east side.

Due to construction of the West Stadium Center, the west and south sides of the stadium will be closed.

Beginning at 5 p.m., fans can watch the final hour of practice from seats in Sections 21-28 only before head coach Bill Snyder and team captains address the crowd. Fans will then be able to participate in a one-hour autograph session on the field with all players and coaches.

K-State opens its doors to the new West Stadium Center and kicks off the 2013 season by hosting North Dakota State on Friday, Aug. 30 at 7:30 p.m., televised nationally by FOX Sports 1.

The West Stadium Center Dedication Celebration will also take place that Friday morning at 11 a.m. More details regarding public event will be announced soon.
