Josephine Steinbruck

Josephine Steinbruck, 97, of Wakefield, died Aug. 22 at the Golden Living Center in that community.

Mrs. Steinbruck was born June 22, 1914, in Oak Hill, and graduated from Clay Center High School. She was a school teacher before marrying Gaylord Steinbruck July 11, 1937. He preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 1995.

She was a member of the Oak Hill Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday school and Bible classes. She was also preceded in death by a son, Ted, and a daughter, Gaylene Frigon.

Survivors include a daughter, Marcine, of Green; a son, Frederick Steinbruck, of Longford; two brothers, Robert Palmateer of Wichita and John Palmateer of Manhattan; a sister, Doris Palmateer of Wakefield; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Presbyterian Church in Oak Hill with Pastor Gil Gillespie officiating. Burial will be at Rose Meron Cemetery in Clay County.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Clay Center. Memorials may be given to the Meadowlark Hospice or Golden Living Center in care of the funeral home. Online condolences can be left at nsrfh.com
