Sales activity in the city declined during January, according to data released Wednesday.
The city reported its March sales tax receipts at $874,400, down about $18,000 from the same month a year ago. March figures represent purchases made during January.
It was the second consecutive month of decline, following February figures that were down about $40,000 from the previous year.
Year-to-date receipts are down 4.9 percent from the same period a year ago.
