Janette Schnell, age 72, of Acorn, Arkansas, died Saturday at her home.  She was born on Saturday, Dec. 7, 1940 to Herbert Edward Sr. and Anna Lou Golden Aleshire in Athens, Ark.

The family provided some of the following information.

Janette was a kind, gentle person who could always find the best in everyone. She loved to help people and always tried to meet their needs right where they were in life. Janette loved her family and loved being able to have all her children come together. Janette also enjoyed raising flowers, going fishing, reading and quilting. She worked 28 years in the radiology department at Mena Regional Health System before her retirement.  This was one of Janetteā€™s greatest achievements during her life. Janette was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, and will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Janette is survived by her former husband, Jim Schnell of Mena, Ark.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Eric and Kacey Schnell of Mena, Ark., and James and Emily Schnell of Mena, Ark.; five daughters and sons-in-law, Janell and Terry Atkinson of Manhattan, Carlene and Jim Fagan of Mena, Ark., Tammy and Bob Joyce of Manhattan, Betty Jo and Mark Brown of Mena, Ark., Rhonda Byers of Acorn, Ark.; one granddaughter of the home, Rachel Tarkinton of Acorn, Ark.; one brother, Herbert Edward Aleshire Jr. of Mena, Ark.; one sister, Jackie Aleshire of Mena, Ark.; 27 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Dallas Avenue Baptist Church in Mena, Ark., with the Rev. Justin Leonard officiating. Interment will follow in the Board Camp Cemetery under the direction of Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Ark. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mena, Ark.

Pallbearers will be Mark Harvey, Thomas Brown, Aaron Breeden, Wesley Overturf, Derek Tarkinton and Heath Schnell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tony Harvey, Chris Harvey, Clay Breeden, Alex Solomon, Allen Brown, Eric Prockish, Andrew Schnell and Max Schnell.
