Injury accident on Seth Child and Kimball

By Katherine Wartell

A Manhattan man was transported to Mercy Regional Health Center after his car was struck by another vehicle at the intersection of Seth Child Road and Kimball Avenue Monday afternoon.

Capt. Kurt Moldrup said that Carlos Sainz y Diaz, 30, was driving his 2007 Nissan Versa eastbound on Kimball Avenue, when he was struck by Gary Manges, 36, Westmoreland, driving a 1994 Oldsmobile sedan.

Moldrup said Manges was exiting the north Seth Child Road off-ramp, when he failed to yield the right-of-way to turn west onto Kimball Avenue.

Riley County EMS transported Sainz y Diaz for neck and back pain and officers cited Manges for failure to yield the right-of-way.
