Injury accident on Manhattan Avenue

By The Mercury

One person was hospitalized following a two-vehicle accident Saturday at the intersection of South Manhattan Avenue and Yuma Street.

Officer Matthew Droge said the accident occurred after Howard Turner Jr., 37, Manhattan, driving a 2002 Buick Sentry, failed to stop at a stop sign on Yuma Street and was struck by a 1995 Ford F-150 driven by Timothy Khudson, 48, Manhattan.

Droge said Khudson had been travelling southbound on South Manhattan Avenue.

Riley County EMS transported Turner to Mercy Regional Health Center for complaints of head pain. He was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign.
