A motorcyclist was injured after he lost control of his motorcycle Friday afternoon on College Heights Road.
Lt. Josh Kyle said Donald Patterson, 25, Manhattan, was driving his silver 2004 Honda CVR 100 at a high rate of speed west of Quivera Drive, when he was spooked by a vehicle on a side street and slammed on his brakes. Kyle said Patterson skidded for approximately 264 feet, suffering major road rash.
He said Patterson then left the scene and drove himself to the Mercy Regional Hospital.
Officers cited him for leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage, failure to report an accident and failure to exercise due care. The incident occurred around 5 p.m.
