Injury accident near Ogden

Two drivers were transported to Mercy Regional Health Center after a collision Monday afternoon on the K-18 bypass at Walnut Street.

Lt. Josh Kyle said they received a call about a rollover accident at about 3:45 p.m. and upon arrival, officers found a 2008 Ford Expedition in the road that appeared to have rolled over and landed back on its wheels. He said officers also found a 2009 Nissan Altima nearby in a ditch.

Kyle said William Spiegel, 41, Manhattan, was driving his Expedition southwest on the K-18 bypass when he struck the back of the Nissan driven by Katie Freeman, 24, Ogden, who was slowed down in traffic.

Kyle said Riley County EMS transported Freeman for a possible broken arm and transported Spiegel as a preventative measure. He said officers cited Spiegel for following too closely.
