The Manhattan High boys’ tennis team traveled to Topeka on Wednesday for a dual with Seaman.
Jake Seaton took the No. 1 singles spot and won the category, while teaming up with JT Turnley to win their doubles match.
Claib Harris won his singles match, but lost his doubles match. Riley Ratliff, Dustin Hayes and Sam Hong lost both their singles and doubles matches.
MHS coach Chuck Kipp said the team didn’t compete as well as he thought it would.
“I don’t think the boys played as competitively as they have at other meets,” he said. “The long layoff between the Manhattan quad and the Seaman duel could be a reason.”
The Indians are in the midst of a busy time in their schedule, having played in a meet at Salina South today and traveling to Junction City on Saturday.
Manhattan will be at Topeka for the Topeka High Invitational on April 23, and in Emporia on April 24.
Kipp said the performances from those events will determine the doubles pairings for the Centennial League meet on April 30 in Topeka.
