The Manhattan High bowling teams competed in the Shawnee Heights Invitational on Monday at Gage Bowl in Topeka.
The girls’ team finished fourth, shooting a team score of 1,978. Washburn Rural won the event with a 2,297, followed by Shawnee Heights and Topeka High.
Individually, Meghan Dooley led the Lady Indians with a 519 series, getting 10th place in the tournament. Katherine Eimer shot a 464, Krystyn Winiecki shot a 462, Miranda Dooley shot a 473, Andrea Miller shot a 430, and Sierra Flowers rounded out the scoring with a 325.
The boys’ team finished second with a team score of 2,428, falling short of Washburn Rural who won the tournament with a 2,542. Shawnee Heights was third, and Topeka High finished fourth.
Individually, Alex Huerta finished second in the tournament with a 642 series. Alex Murph got sixth with a 580, Smitt Thirakul got eighth with a 572, and Shon Eakes finished 10th with a 546. Tucker Reffitt had a 478, and AJ Cabanatuan shot a 495 to round out the scoring.
The Indians return to Gage Center on Thursday for the Centennial League tournament with the girls starting at 1 p.m.
