Inaugural RCPD scholarship awarded

Kristina Gee, the daughter of Officer Darla King, was awarded the inaugural $500 Riley County Police Department scholarship in August. She is currently attending Fort Hays State University.

To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be the dependent son or daughter of an active, full-time RCPD employee and accepted or currently enrolled as a full-time student at the undergraduate or graduate level.

The Riley County Police Department Scholarship Fund is a component fund of the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation and was established by RCPD to recognize outstanding students who are children of RCPD employees. People who would like to donate to the scholarship fund may do so by submitting donations in check form to the “RCPD Scholarship Fund.” Donations may be sent to the fund care of the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation, 555 Poyntz Avenue, Suite 269, PO Box 1127, Manhattan, KS 66505-1127.
