I-70 westbound lanes open, risky conditions close USD 329

By Bethany Knipp

Interstate 70’s westbound lanes between mile markers 322 and 336 are slowly opening, Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper Ben Gardner said.
The fourteen-mile stretch from the Wabaunsee County line to the Paxico exit was closed because of black ice that caused injury and non-injury accidents.
Because of blocked traffic and risky conditions, schools in USD 329 Mill Creek Valley were also closed for the day.
Gardner said drivers should move slowly because there are still troopers in the area.
