Horne arrested on drug charges

By The Mercury

Levertis Horne, 22, of Manhattan, was arrested while at the Riley County Jail on charges involving possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of opiates, opium, narcotic drugs, stimulants, or otherwise prohibited controlled substances.

RCPD Officer Matthew Droge said that the arrest was part of an investigation stemming from the court case against Horne, in which he was convicted on Saturday of attempted aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and aggravated battery for shooting Chase Cargile in an October 2012 incident.

Droge said that the items that prompted Horne’s arrest on Saturday at about 5:30 p.m. were found during an investigation of Horne’s residence.

Horne was confined and later released on $5,000 bond on the drug charges.
