The semifinalists for the Hoop Holler ‘N Shoot compeition have been announced after they won compeititons at their schools.
Boys included Brett Wilcoxson (Amanda Arnold), Toby Douglas (Bergman), Clayson Joyce (Bluemont), Benjamin Grubbs (Flint Hills Christian), Yukien Andrada (Lee), Tucker Bylkas (Manhattan Catholic School), Mitch Munsen (Marlatt), Tyler Hughston (Northview), Damian Beardsley (Ogden), BJ Young (Theodore Roosevelt) and Noah Sapp (Woodrow Wilson).
The girls were Gillian Awbrey (Amanda Arnold), Anne Beard (Bergman), Makala Niswanger (Bluemont), Cheyenne McCabria (Flint Hills Christian), Gabby Vansickle (Lee), Mallorie Reimer (Manhattan Catholic School), Jasmin Johnson (Marlatt), Jessica Hagadorn (Northview), Kindall Vega (Ogden), Alison Payne (Theodore Roosevelt) and Vanessa Klimek (Woodrow Wilson).
The boys’ semifinals will be held at halftime of the men’s K-State vs. Troy game on December 15th. The girls’ semifinals will be held during halftime of the women’s K-State vs. UC Santa Barbara game on December 15th.
The top four semifinalists in each division will shoot in the finals to be held at halftime of the men’s K-State vs. Oklahoma game on January 14th for the boys and during halftime at the women’s K-State vs. Oklahoma State game on January 8th for the girls.
Last year’s champions were Taylor Johnson representing Bluemont and Tyler Beckman from Manhattan Catholic Schools. Over 860 students participated in last year’s competition.
