Honors keep rolling in for Kivett

Kansas State second baseman Ross Kivett was named to Baseball America’s Preseason All-America Third Team on Monday, earning his fourth preseason All-American nod this year.

Kivett is the first K-State baseball player to garner four preseason All-American honors fpr a single season.

The 2013 Big 12 Player of the Year has also been named to the preseason All-American first teams for Collegiate Baseball newspaper, NCBWA and Perfect Game. The senior was named an All-American by three different organizations following last season, including Baseball America’s third team.

Kivett is the third Wildcat since 2011 to earn preseason All-American accolades from Baseball America.

The Wildcats, who are ranked as high as No. 21 in preseason polls, start the 2014 season on Feb. 14 at Cal Poly. K-State will open the home portion of its schedule on Feb. 28.
