For the second time in his career, Kansas State baseball head coach Brad Hill was named American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Diamond Midwest Region Coach of the Year.
In addition to 2013, Hill was named the ABCA Midwest Region Coach of the Year in 2009.
This year’s ABCA honor adds to Hill receiving the 2013 Big 12 Coach of the Year award in May. Hill and the Wildcats won the Big 12 title after going 45-19 overall and 16-8 in conference play.
Hill piloted the Wildcats to a school-record 45 wins, en route to capturing the program’s first conference championship in 80 years.
Hill wasn’t the only Wildcat to be recognized by the ABCA for notable performances in 2013. Ross Kivett was tabbed to the ABCA All-American Second Team, one of the second baseman’s three All-American nods from different organizations last season. Kivett was also named to the ABCA Midwest All-Region First Team, while Jared King was named to the All-Region Second Team.
