Helen Irene Davis, 86, died Sunday at the Wesley Towers in Hutchinson.

She was born Aug. 9, 1927 in Clay County. She was the daughter of Albert and Vena (Palmateer) Siebold. She was raised in the Fact Community. She married Ahart Reed in 1946 and they later divorced. She owned and operated a cafe in Leonardville.

She married Robert Dale Davis on Dec. 11, 1964 in Manhattan and he preceded her in death on June 6, 2002.

She moved to Clay Center in 1955 and owned and operated Southside and Reed’s Cafe. She moved to Morganville in1964 and owned and operated Bob’s Cafe until she retired in 1989. She moved to Hutchinson in 2000.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Ann Reed; a grandson, Lucas Carlson Reed; four brothers, Wilbur, Warren, Floyd and Franklin Siebold; and five sisters, Margaret Poindexter, Pauline Coltharp, Wilma Dennis, Pat Bowman and Alberta Dageford Gregory.

She is survived by a daughter, Sharon and husband Rick Cooper of Hutchinson; son, Bruce Reed of Riley; sister, Mary McDonald Fowler of Leonardville; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel in Clay Center. Burial will be in Morganville Cemetery in Morganville. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of Reno County or the Good Samaritan Fund at the Wesley Towers and can be left in care of the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home, 918 7th, Clay Center, KS 67432.
