Hayden nips MHS boys

By Grant Guggisberg

The Manhattan High boys’ basketball team’s rally fell short in the fourth quarter, as Hayden held on for a 63-61 win Tuesday night.

After trailing by 10 heading into the fourth quarter, Manhattan rallied almost all the way back in the fourth quarter, cutting the lead to two but not ever getting the game-tying basket.

The game got chippy into the fourth quarter, but Hayden was able to make just enough plays down the stretch to come out on top, despite a wild final minute of action.

Manhattan was led by Gabe Awbrey’s 19 points, while Pierson McAtee and Payton Stephens each scored 15.
