We can’t help but notice that some of the fall foliage in our area is truly spectacular and that gas prices are in one of their low cycles.
And given that no one knows how long either condition will last, it strikes us as a good time to cruise around town or down some country lanes admiring the changing colors.
If you balk at the notion of burning fossil fuels to take in some of our planet’s beauty — we appreciate the contradiction — fair enough. In that case, we’d encourage you to get on your bicycle and ride around some of our neighborhoods, or put on some comfortable shoes and take a nice walk in your own before the show is over and the cold sets in.
We’re not suggesting that the foliage has peaked, but it’s hard to imagine some of the red maples, sugar maples, sweetgums and burning bushes looking much better than they do now.
