Kansas State sophomore Laura Galvan earned yet another honor during her impressive cross country season on Monday when she was named to the USTFCCCA All-Midwest Regional team.

To qualify for the All-Midwest Regional team, Galvan had to finish in the top 25 in the Midwest Region.

This is the first time Galvan has been named to the All-Midwest Regional team, and the fifth straight season the Wildcat women have had at least one runner on the NCAA All-Midwest Regional team.

Martina Tresch was named to the team in 2010 and 2011 as a sophomore and junior respectively. Sydney Messick earned All-Regional honors in 2010 as a senior. Beverly Ramos was named to the team in 2008 and 2009 as a junior and senior respectively as well.

Galvan finished in seventh with a time of 20:45.72 at the Midwest Regional Championships on Friday, allowing her to earn an at-large bid for the NCAA Championships.

The NCAA Championships are Saturday at the E.P. Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Ky. Galvan will run the women’s 6K race at 11 a.m.
