Freeman falls short, Nelson scores TD in loss

Former Kansas State quarterback Josh Freeman couldn’t keep things rolling for the recently hot Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as they lost to the Atlanta Falcons in a tight, 24-23 game.

Freeman finished 19-of-30 passing for 256 yards and no touchdowns.

Jordy Nelson got things going on Sunday for the Green Bay Packers, hauling in two catches for 71 yards and a touchdown. It wasn’t enough, though, as the Packers lost 38-10 to the New York Giants.

William Powell got involved in the Arizona Cardinals’ 31-17 loss to the St. Louis Rams, rushing three times for 11 yards and catching six passes for 63 yards.

The Miami Dolphins got some production out of Daniel Thomas, as the running back ran nine times for 60 yards and a touchdown, and caught a 10 yard pass in the teams’ 24-21 win over the Seattle Seahawks.

Darren Sproles caught seven passes for 65 yards in the New Orleans Saints’ 31-21 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Terence Newman and Emmanuel Lamur got involved in the Cincinnati Bengals’ 34-10 win over the Oakland Raiders. Newman had four tackles and Lamur had three.
