Frankfort splits with Wabaunsee

At Frankfort, the Wildcats got their first win of the season with a 42-39 win over the Wabaunsee Chargers Friday night, riding a nine-point halftime lead to a victory, despite struggles from the free-throw line.

The Wildcats were just 13 of 35 from the line, good for 37 percent, but managed to hit enough in the end to come out with the win. Wabaunsee outscored Frankfort by three in each of the final two quarters, but couldn’t complete the rally.

Lucas Adams finished the night with 20 points, hitting the team’s only 3-pointer, while Adam Koch had eight points and Kyle Vaughn finished with seven.

Nick Terrapin finished with 22 points for Wabaunsee.



At Frankfort, the Wabaunsee Chargers took a 12-3 lead after the first quarter before outscoring the Wildcats the rest of the way by eight to earn a road win Friday night.

For Frankfort, Ashley Joseph finished with nine points, including two of the team’s three 3-pointers. Adrianna Martin had eight points, with the other 3-pointer. The Wildcats finished 9 of 24 from the free-throw line.

Both Frankfort teams travel to Clifton-Clyde on Tuesday.
