Frankfort beats Crest to advance

The Frankfort boys’ basketball team got big points from all over on Wednesday, beating Crest 74-60 in the opening round of the Class 1A-DII tournament in Hays.

Alex Surdez was 5-of-6 from 3-point range and had 18 points, while Calahan Brown scored 17 points for the Wildcats.

Usual leading scorer Jacob Broxterman had 22 points and Jonathan Keating scored 12 points.

The Wildcats hit seven 3-pointers in the game, and many came early as Frankfort led 20-9 after the first and 34-20 by halftime.
