Four locals arrested for attempted aggravated robbery

The Riley County Police Department received an attempted aggravated robbery complaint at approximately 10:30 p.m. Thursday in the 2100 block of Green Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers were told that Anson Eddy, 30, of Manhattan was approached by at least two subjects.

One of these subjects was brandishing what appeared to be a handgun. Eddy was ultimately able to flee the area without any injury.

Subsequently, patrol officers and detectives, were able to track down several suspects and make four arrests for the offense of attempted aggravated robbery.

Arrested were Antonio Vinson, 16, Tieler Reeves, 17, and Andrew O’Connell, 16, all of Manhattan. These subjects are currently confined at the North Central Kansas Regional Juvenile Detention Center located in Junction City.

Also arrested was Tyrell Scott, 21, of Manhattan who was transported and still confined at the Riley County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bond.

Upon the arrests of these subjects, officers were able to confirm that the item used to help facilitate this attempted robbery was a handgun style bb gun.

As a result of further investigation another arrest was also made.

Danielle O’Connell, 35, of Manhattan was arrested at approximately 8:15 a.m. Friday for contributing to a child’s misconduct, furnishing alcoholic liquor to a minor, and unlawfully hosting minors consuming alcoholic liquor.

She was held at the Riley County Jail at the time of this release on $5,000 bond.
