Four finalists have been named in the city’s search for a new assistant city manager.

The four are: Adam Bentley, administrative assistant to the city manager in Iowa City, Iowa; Christina Burns, assistant to the village manager in Clarendon Hills, Illinois; Joseph Cronin, assistant town manager and planning director at Fort Mill, S.C.; and Michael Brent Stockwell, currently strategic initiatives director at Scottsdale, Ariz.

A public reception will be held for the four from 5:30–6:30 p.m. Monday in the Alcove Room, Hilton Garden Inn & Conference Center, 410 South 3rd Street. Each candidate will provide a brief introductory statement followed by informal introductions and questions.

City officials said the four finalists were selected following a nationwide search. The position became vacant upon the resignation of Lauren Palmer May 22. She is city administrator for Parkville, Mo.
