Flint Hills Discovery Center director resigns

By Corene Brisendine

City Manager Ron Fehr announced Wednesday that Bob Workman, Flint Hills Discovery Center director, will be leaving his position with the city to become the director of the Ulrich Museum of Art at Wichita State University. Workman will stay through mid-January to assist with the search for his replacement. Workman is leaving to further the growth of the Ulrich Museum, the institution where he began his career in 1978. Raised in Wichita, this is also a personal decision as he and his wife, Liz, will be returning home to care for family living there. A national search will start soon with an anticipated start date for the new director within the first quarter of 2013.
