Flint Hills Attack wins tournament

The 10-and-under Flint Hills Attack boys soccer team won the top division of the Nutmeg Tournament last weekend in Kansas City, Mo.

In pool play, the Attack won 18-0 over the Wichita Sharks, 6-2 over KC Prime Elite Strikers and 5-0 over BSC Blue.

In the championship game, the Attack faced KC Select Italia, who had scored 21 goals in its three pool play games, but the Attack rolled to a 7-0 shutout.

This tournament capped a three-year run by the Attack under head coach Stephen Ferguson, who has guided the team to 10 tournament titles. 

Team members include Myles Ferguson, Daniel Cortez, Alex Boyle, Ibrahim Ciftci, Ian Clark, Andreas Delort, Yankuba Faburay, Joseph Shuford and Kendric Smith.
