Tina Wise, undeclared, of Manhattan, and Rachel Darey, accounting, and Madison Wiegers, biology, both of Wamego, will be among those honored as First Year Experience (FYE) Scholars at Washburn University.

For the first time, Washburn students who have completed their initial semester of college with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher will be recognized formally by the university.

The scholars and their families have been invited to partake in an afternoon and evening of celebration Feb. 5 on the Washburn campus.
