Finally, game day

By Walt Braun

We can’t all go to the Cotton Bowl. Some of us have to work or tend families; others of us spent our disposable income at Christmas.

But the Wildcats enjoying themselves in Dallas needn’t worry that the folks back home will miss the game. Most of us will be glued to televisions when K-State takes on Arkansas this evening.

Some of us will head to the sports bars, and some are hosting parties to cheer on Collin Klein and his teammates. After all, the game isn’t just a reward for the players, it’s also a reward for their fans.

To anyone who isn’t a K-State fan or a football fan and has some errands to run or shopping to do, we recommend heading out about 7:30 this evening. You’ll probably get a terrific parking place and might have the roads and the stores to yourself.

The rest of us will be at the game, in spirit if not in person.
