FHSC Earthquakes take first

The Flint Hills Soccer Club (FHSC) Earthquakes won the 13-and-under division of the Governor’s Cup this past weekend in Topeka.

The Earthquakes went 3-0 in pool play by defeating the Sporting Kaw Valley United Arsenal 2-0, the Wichita Rojos 2-1 and the Topeka Select Sharks 5-0.

In the championship game, the Earthquakes battled the Kansas City Harambe Real Madrid and won 1-0 off a header late in the game.

The Quakes finished a successful fall season with a record of 15-3-1 against other U13 squads. They entered five tournaments, winning three and placing second in another.

Earthquakes players include Joey Crespino, Trace Dillon, Hunter French, Carson Gros, Dylan Haar, Parker Hafen, Cole Herpich, Parker Holborn, Ben Hulsmeyer, Cade Hupp, Max Kiracofe, Mitch Hutchinson, Matthew Long, Josh Priddle, Aidan Proctor, Brett Seaton, Michael Turnley and Luke Wichmann.

The team is coached by Bill Turnley, Scott French and Troy Dillon.
