FHSC Attack wins

The FHSC Attack of Manhattan won the championship of the 9-and-under boys Gold Division at the Kaw Valley Futbol Festival Sunday in Lawrence.

The Attack — members of the Flint Hills Soccer Club — rallied to defeat Sporting Kaw Valley Cruzeiro 2-1 in the championship game. Cruzeiro is the top-ranked team in Kansas City’s Heartland Premier League.

The Attack went 2-1 in pool play with a 6-0 win over SKV Select Botafogo, a 4-1 victory over Dynamo and a 5-0 loss to Cruzeiro to set up a rematch in the championship game.

The Attack players inlcude Myles Ferguson, Ibrahim Ciftci, Justin Li, Alex Boyle, Ian Clark, Daniel Cortez, Marwan El-Sotouhy, Kendric Smith and Andreas Delort. The Attack is coached by Stephen Ferguson.
