Fern Dee Lindahl, 98, died Saturday in Watsonville, Calif.

The family provided some of the following information.

Fern was born Sept. 7, 1915, in Munden to Will and Frances (Griffeth) Strnad. She grew up in Munden and graduated from Munden High School in 1933.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior as a child and faithfully served him. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

On Sept. 30, 1940, she was united in marriage to Kermit M. Lindahl in Munden. They lived on the family farm in Agenda. From 1941 to 1949, three sons were born to the family.

On April 16, 1954, Kermit died. Fern then moved with her three sons to Manhattan.

For a number of years, she was a cook at the Manhattan Junior High School cafeteria and later worked at Kansas State University.

In 1968, Fern moved with her family to Hawaii. In 1970, she moved to San Diego, Calif., and then to Aptos, Calif., in 1996.

She was preceded in death by three siblings, Paul, Roberta, and Forest Strnad.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Dennis in 1993, and Kevin in 2007.

She is survived by a son, Danny of Manhattan; five granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be in Aptos, Calif., at a later date.

Burial will be in the Agenda cemetery.
