Falcons split with Abilene

The Riley County Falcons softball team hosted the Abilene Cowgirls on Thursday night in Riley, winning the first game 9-6 and dropping the second 8-4.

In the bottom of the sixth in Game 1, down one run, with the bases loaded, Alyssa Kulp hit a grand slam to put the Falcons up.

Emily Brummett, Makayla Tegtmeier, Madison Rogers and Simons all had singles and Kulp doubled. 

Jordan Ummel pitched in relief and had a single and a double in Game 2. Kulp tripled while Cheyenne Stedman, Brummett, Rogers and Bri Engle each singled in the game.

The Falcons will see action again on Tuesday night at Silver Lake.
