Falcon boys win Sabetha XC regional

The Riley County Falcons traveled to Sabetha for their Class 3A cross country regional on Saturday, as the boys’ team took first overall to send the entire team, while the girls’ squad put two runners in the top 10 to send them to this weekend’s state meet in Lawrence.

Beka Silvia (5th, 17:08.00) and Abbi Collins (7th, 17:18.00) both qualified for state with high finishes, with the team ending in fifth place overall.

The boys were led by Blake Dodson (3rd, 16:56.00), with Tony Strom (6th, 17:22.00), Daniel William (11th, 17:49.00) and Gunnar Jackson (19th, 18:03.00) all finishing in the top 10 to bolster the team score. Tyler Hageman (38th, 19:01.00), Josiah Satzler (50th, 19:34.00) and Josh Smothers (55th, 19:42.00) rounded out the varsity squad.
