Eisenhower Middle School opens volleyball season



The Eisenhower Middle School eighth grade volleyball teams opened their seasons Thursday with three matches at Shawnee Heights.

EMS A team lost to Shawnee Heights in three games (25-20, 25-27, 10-15). Eisenhower A then lost a match against Seaman (25-20, 25-12, 4-15).

EMS rebounded and defeated Washburn Rural in the final match of the night (25-22, 26-24). 

Hana Tamura, Mackenzie Pease and Hannah Religa led the team in service points.

The Eisenhower B team struggled in its first match, losing 10-25, 15-25 to Shawnee Heights. EMS was better in the second, but still lost to Seaman (14-25, 16-25).

EMS then finished the night by losing to Washburn Rural (18-25, 17-25).

Montana Adams and Eilish MacCharles led the team in service points. Hannah Kordyak and Izzy Ballou led in digs and Therriana Pitman was the leader in blocks and kills.
