Eisenhower competes in Manhattan Invite

The Eisenhower seventh and eighth grade track teams competed in the Manhattan Invitational last Thursday.

The seventh grade girls took third and the boys were first, while the eighth grade girls were sixth and the boys are fifth.

Paxton Stone started it off for the seventh grade girls with a third-place finish in the triple jump. Jaylie Thornton was first in the 800-meter run and Karmen Martinie was first in the 1,600 run. The 4x400 relay was second and the 4x200 relay was third. The 800 sprint medley relay took second.

In seventh grade boys got a first-place finish from John Haug in the 75 hurdles and a second-place finish from him in the triple jump. Tom Haug was third in the high jump, while Parker Beer was third in triple jump.

Brandon Cook was second in discus and Akira Alesna was third in discus.

Michael Smith took first in the 400 and Kea McDonald was second. James Wilson was first in the 800 and finished second in the 1,600.

The 4x100 relay was third and the 4x200 relay was second. The 4x400 relay was second and the 800 sprint medley relay was first.

In eighth grade girls, Ella Hirsh finished third in triple jump and Tarrah Bammes was third in the 200 dash. Madalyn Taylor was first in the 1,600 and Tate Thompson took third in the 3,200. The 800 sprint medley relay was first.
