Edward “Francis” Gordon, 84, formerly of Highland, died Wednesday. He served in the Kansas Legislature for 14 years, both in the House and Senate.

The family provided some of the following information.

He and his wife Virginia Tilton, just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.  They had spent most of their married life at Highland.  In recent years, they made their home at Manhattan and later, Lansing.  She survives at the home in Lansing.  Other survivors include his daughter Gloria (Gene) Schneider of Leavenworth; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are brother William (Rosemary) Gordon of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and a sister Marjorie Gordon of Indianapolis, Ind. 

Francis was preceded in death a son, Dr. Wayne Gordon; and a great-granddaughter Gaberille Rizek.

The family will meet with friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Highland.  Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Highland Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested for the Bellevue Church or the Highland Cemetery, sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 33, 66035.
