Earthquakes take first at Heartland soccer tourney

The Flint Hills Soccer Club (FHSC) Earthquakes won their 12-and-under division of the Heartland Invitational Tournament this past weekend at at the Overland Park Soccer Complex. 

The Earthquakes went 3-0-1 in the round robin tournament, defeating West Des Moines (Iowa) White 5-1, Kansas City Fusion 9-2 and Sporting Blue Valley Atlas 4-0 and tying Springfield (Mo.) Total Demize at one apiece.

This concluded a very successful fall season as the Earthquakes who finished 23-2-3. The Earthquakes played five tournaments this season, taking first place in four of them and coming in second in the other.

Earthquakes players include Joey Crespino, Trace Dillon, Hunter French, Carson Gros, Dylan Haar, Mitchell Hutchinson, Matthew Long, Josh Priddle, Aidan Proctor, Brett Seaton, Michael Turnley and Luke Wichmann. The team is coached by Bill Turnley and Scott French.
