Drug arrest in Junction City

A 19-year-old Junction City man was arrested for various drug charges and battery against a law enforcement officer following the execution of a search warrant at his residence Thursday.

Devante Charles Moore, 25 Riley Manor Circle, was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, battery of a law enforcement officer, obstruction of official duty, criminal acquisition of drug proceeds, no Kansas drug tax stamp and felony possession of drug paraphernalia.

Junction City Police Chief Tim Brown said the search warrant was obtained after a month long investigation by the Junction City-Geary County Drug Operations Group with the assistance of Junction City-Geary County SWAT.

He said The Drug Operations Group seized marijuana with an estimated street value of $850, more than $3,500 in currency, drug paraphernalia, electronic equipment and a 2001 Ford Taurus.

The Junction City-Geary County Drug Operations Group is a joint task force composed of members of the Junction City Police Department, Geary County Sheriff’s Department, and Grandview Plaza Police Department.
