Drug arrest at MHS-West

By Katherine Wartell

An 18-year-old student was arrested Friday for various drug charges after school officials found drugs at Manhattan High School West Campus following a search.

Zachary Almquist, 2813 Brad Lane, was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of Alprazolam and possession of drug paraphernalia, after school officials suspected that Almquist was using drugs and performed a search, Lt. Josh Kyle said.

Officials contacted the school resource officer, who arrested Almquist on $2,000 bond.

He has since been released from the Riley County Jail.
