Kansas Highway Patrol officials have released the name of the driver killed Thursday in a two-vehicle accident on I-70 near Grandview Plaza.

Jason Harper, 26, Manhattan, died Thursday afternoon after he crashed a 2001 Chevrolet passenger car into a snow plow operated by the Kansas Department of Transportation that had been parked on the side of the road.

According to officials, Harper had been driving eastbound on the interstate when he lost control due to icy road conditions. A passenger in his vehicle, Jillian Davidson, 25, Wichita, was injured. She was transported to Geary County Hospital.

The accident occurred at approximately 2:25 p.m., approximately a half-mile away from where the interstate intersects with K-57 in Grandview Plaza.

The driver of the snow-plow, Jared Beary, 31, White City, was not injured.
