Don’t miss 4-H shooting sports competition

By Letters to the Editor

To the Editor: The Riley/Pottawatomie 4-H Straight Shooters shooting sports project club will host a state qualifying match March 18-19 at Pottorf Hall in CiCo Park.
Youth from ages 8 through 18 will compete in air pistol, air rifle and BB gun categories, following the NRA course of fire for those disciplines.
Two hundred shooters from 19 extension units, including 16 youth from our club, will strive to meet the qualifying score required to participate in the Kansas 4-H State Shooting Sports Match held April 29 in Alma.
The event is open to the public with no admission charge. We invite you to come and watch the competition between some of the best youth shooters in our state.
Many of these youth will be competing at the national level this summer in both the National 4-H Shooting Sports Match and the Daisy National BB Gun Championship Match.
