Domestic disturbance reported

By The Mercury

Riley County officers arrested an Ogden man Tuesday following reports of a domestic disturbance at his former girlfriend’s southwest Manhattan residence.

The 42-year-old woman reported that the man battered her, but Lt. Josh Kyle said that Cecil Beerbower, 50, has only been arrested for violation of protection orders.

Kyle said officers were called to the woman’s residence at approximately 7:22 p.m. Tuesday. He said Beerbower was arrested following an on-scene investigation. Beerbower is confined to the Riley County Jail on $500 bond.

Kyle also said a 50-year-old man reported a domestic criminal damage to property, reportedly occurring between 6 and 7 p.m. on Dec. 9. He did not identify the man, but said the incident was related to the one in which Beerbower was arrested. The man told police his former girlfriend allegedly damaged his Chevrolet truck, broke windows at his residence and damaged his front door and frame. There were no arrests in that incident. The total loss was reportedly $700.
