Dole plans visits to area cities

Former Sen. Bob Dole plans to visit a number of cities next week during the second of several trips to Kansas this year. All visits are free and open to the public.

“I’m looking forward to returning to Kansas for the second time this spring,” Dole said.  “I hope to see friends and former supporters of mine, and I am looking forward to enjoying more cookies along the way — preferably oatmeal raisin and chocolate.”

The following are his visits in the area:

Monday, May 12

 

Marysville: American Legion Post No. 163 (310 N. 19th Street) — 12:35 to 1:30 p.m.

Washington:  Mayberry’s Restaurant (307 C Street) — 2:15 to 3:15 p.m.

Clay Center: venue TBD — 4 to 5 p.m.

Westmoreland: Westmoreland United Methodist Church, education building (105 Second St.) — 6:15 to 7:15 p.m.

Tuesday, May 13

 

Manhattan:  Kansas Wheat Innovation Center (1990 Kimball Ave.) — 9:45 to 10:30 a.m.

Junction City: venue TBD — 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Abilene:  Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library, indoor courtyard (200 S.E. Fourth Street) — 1 to 2:15 p.m.

Salina: Salina Public Library, Prescott Meeting Room (Ninth and Elm streets) — 3 to 4:15 p.m.
