Dermatologist gets put in surgery society

Dr. John R. Adams, a board-certified dermatologist of Advanced Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center, P.A., Manhattan, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the American Society of Mohs Surgery (ASMS).

The primary mission of the ASMS is to improve physician performance and patient health through medical education courses with an emphasis on skin cancer, dermatologic surgery and Mohs surgery.

Additionally, Adams was featured in a Kansas healthcare profile in RedBook, Good Housekeeping and Women’s Day in a discussion on skin cancer and Mohs surgery.

Adams is a 1988 graduate of the University Of Southern California School of Medicine and has been practicing dermatology in Kansas and Advanced Dermatology since 1996.

Advanced Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center, P.A. is a Manhattan-based practice specializing in diseases of the skin and skin cancers at 1133 College Ave.

Adams and three nurse practitioners see patients from throughout Kansas. They also have clinics in Junction City at Geary Community Hospital and Clay Center at Clay County Medical Center.
