Democrats to review sales tax Monday

Riley County Democrats will continue to prepare for the November general elections at the party’s monthly membership meeting Monday night.

Party chairperson Kathryn Focke and 2012 campaign coordinator Andrew Rickel, who are both Kansas delegates to this week’s Democratic National Convention, will present a report on the week’s activities in Charlotte.

Party members will also hear a discussion on the half-cent sales tax initiative that will be on the Nov. 6 ballot from County Commissioner Karen McCulloh and city commissioner Jim Sherow.

The meeting will be held at the Blue Hills Ballroom at 6, with a buffet dinner beginning at 6:30.  The price for the buffet is $12 and a cash bar is available.

The program begins at 7 p.m.
