Riley County police reported that a Topeka man died Thursday from injuries sustained in a Sunday car crash on Tuttle Creek Boulevard.
Lt. Josh Kyle said Jerome Little, 60, died at the St. Francis Health Center in Topeka at 12:17 a.m. on Thursday.
It was reported on Tuesday that Little was involved in a three-car accident at about 11 a.m. on Sunday, near the intersection of Tuttle Creek Boulevard and Leavenworth Street.
Kyle said Little, driving a 1995 Lincoln Mark VII, was southbound on Tuttle Creek Boulevard, approaching Leavenworth Street, when he struck the back of a stopped 2003 Hyundai Sonata driven by Abdelmalik Hussein, 47, Kansas City.
Kyle said the force of the collision caused Hussein’s car to strike the back of the 2004 Infiniti I35 driven by David Stanley, 47, Kansas City, Mo., who was stopped in front of him.
Kyle said Little’s car was on fire when officers arrived on the scene and that Little had already been carried away from his car by several people. He said Little was conscious but complained of significant injury to his legs and that Riley County EMS transported him to Mercy Regional Health Center before he was life-flighted to Topeka.
Kyle said Hussein and Stanley were uninjured.
