DAR honored to support America’s military veterans

By Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:

The Daughters of the American Revolution supports veterans of the United States and their military service. Our national defense has been supported by these fine men and women during their military service.

The freedom our country has today is the result of our ancestors’ commitment to service to our country and faith, honor and endurance. The military men and women today continue to serve because of their commitment to God, home and country.

Our men and women veterans are continually honored during the year and on Veterans Day, especially through the Society, for their service to the United States of America. The Society supports veterans at local senior housing facilities with “meet and greet” events each month and with an informal remembrance of past service.

The DAR supports veterans with comfort items, food and conversation at the Topeka VA Hospital with countless volun-teer hours during the year and during the holidays.

On Nov. 11, please remember the valiant and patriotic Americans who have served our country. Thank them for their service and shake their hands. Also, please join the Daughters of the American Revolution in supporting our Veterans on Nov. 11. Fly your United States flag proudly.
