Three people were transported to the hospital for possible injuries after a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 24.

At 5:55 p.m. Saturday, a semi-tractor rear-ended a second vehicle that had slowed down and stopped to avoid a third vehicle illegally stopped on the highway, the Kansas Highway Patrol reported. All three passengers in the second vehicle were transported to the hospital.

Margarit Clooney of St. Mary’s along with two children were taken to Mercy Regional Health Center.

The eastbound lanes of Highway 24 between K-Mart and McCall Road were closed until 7:30 p.m.
